The project involves developing an autonomous ground robot capable of navigating through a forest to create a Digital Twin of the sub-canopy environment. The system will map and measure vegetation characteristics (position, trunk diameter, height) and, thanks to an AI-based controller, operate in unstructured environments even with limited GNSS coverage, assessing area traversability.
